Mike has been the head golf professional at Zanesville Country Club for the past 13 years. Originally from Zanesville, Mike worked under head golf professionals Paul Thomas and Brett Steinhagen at the club before moving to Canton, Ohio to work at Brookside Country Club and head professional Jim Logue for three years. Mike played golf for Morehead State University and graduated in 1987 with a degree in business marketing. He has been a member of the PGA of America since June of 1991. Since that time, Mike has won the 1996 Southern Ohio PGA section award for golf shop merchandiser of the year, the Southern Ohio PGA section pro-pro championship at Muirfield Village Golf Club, won the Central Ohio PGA chapter pro-am at New Albany Country Club and won the Southern Ohio PGA Columbus chapter pro-am at Zanesville Country Club. |

Mike’s low round at the club is a 64 and his favorite activity is conducting the Junior Golf Program where LPGA tour stars Michele Redman and Tammie Green began their careers. Mike, who has 2 daughters; Jenna and Jessica, enjoys most the relationships he’s developed with members, co-workers and colleagues in his 22 years in the golf business. Mike states, “I encourage every person who plays golf to do one thing: ENJOY EACH SHOT. If you do that, you will play golf better than you ever envisioned and you will be a happy golfer.” |

Please welcome Greg Bell to our professional golf staff. Greg is also a native of our community, graduating from Tri-Valley High School in 2001. While at Tri-Valley, Greg was a 3-year varsity letterman in golf receiving first team All -MVL for two consecutive years. While attending Ohio University in Zanesville, Greg led the golf team to the state championship in 2003 and was selected two-time all conference. Greg moved on to the Athens campus majoring in chemistry and bio-chemistry. Greg has gained valuable experience as a member of our outside operations golf staff the last five years and his duties will include coordinating the Charlie Goelz League, the Bob Rankin Trophy, the Dick Quinn Cup and Handicap reporting as well as teaching golf and playing golf with the membership.
